| ** NEW DUTY OFFICER VEHICLE IN SERVICE** The Hummelstown fire department has placed into service our New 2026 Chevy Tahoe - Duty Officer Vehicle. For those that are not aware, the Duty Officer Vehicle is operated by one of our line officers. The Duty Officer responds directly to the scene at time of dispatch, to arrive and establish command. When establishing command, it includes various functions such as but not limited to conducting scene size-up, directing incoming apparatus/personnel, requesting additional resources, and communicating with dispatch. The vehicle is upfitted with emergency lighting, radios, air pack, hand tool, turnout gear, and a command board. The purchase of the new Tahoe was made possible with assistance of a $75,000 grant from PA State Rep. Tom Mehaffie office through PA Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) - Tahoe was purchased at klick lewis chevrolet - Emergency Lighting, Siren, Radio, Console, and Command Box installed by B.
